Hi, I’m Ollie!
I’ve always loved art: from that shabby children’s studio to my first easel, to the first painting I bought, then the second easel, and now, the crowded walls.
This year, I paused my fifteen-year career in fancy finance to make real moves toward my original dream - spending the rest of my life holding a brush, surrounded by art that makes me feel alive.
My home office is now a home studio-slash-gallery that smells like paint and looks like it doesn’t quite belong in this quiet UK town.
Painting is a kind of deep meditation for me. I can go for long hours - six, eight, sometimes fourteen - and when I’m in the zone nothing else exists: no time, no tiredness, no hunger, only flow. I’d love to connect with people who feel it in a similar way, hence this Talk page: you’re very welcome to disagree and share what you actually think about this or that (for real - I do love directness).
Walls is my collection - I support emerging Ukrainian artists because, in this moment of human history, they are the magicians transforming some very powerful energy into matter.
And finally, Easel is a portfolio of my own work. I’m exploring kindness as a defining feature of what makes humans human - civilisation in control of its animal nature - and trying to bring a little more positivity and wonder into daily life. Because the reality, both physical and virtual, could really use an escape hatch - or at least a bit more fairy tale.
