Olha Laptieva is established Ukrainian contemporary painter, known for her vibrant oil paintings, landscapes, still lifes and evocative portrayals of everyday life. Her work often captures familiar moments in nature, floral compositions and cityscapes with a fluid, expressive style that can resemble the translucence of watercolour, even when done in oil. She began painting professionally later in life, bringing urgency and dedication to her practice, and has developed a unique visual voice rooted in close observation of natural scenes and human experience. Her art has been exhibited in numerous shows in Ukraine, Scotland and France, and has won recognition — including first prizes for Still Life at the Ukrainian Art Week international exhibition-competition. Laptieva’s paintings are held in private, municipal and corporate collections around the world. Originally based in Ukraine, she has also lived and worked in France, continuing to explore the beauty of ordinary moments through colour, light and composition.
